Obituary for Gary D. Crall
Gary Dale Crall, 58, of Smithville, passed away Monday, December 29th 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous, eight-month, battle against cancer. On Monday, the family will be receiving guests at 11:00 AM with memorial services at 11:30AM at Orrville Christian Church with Pastor Robin Hart officiating; burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery following services. He was born March 18, 1956 in Orrville Ohio the son of Russell and Shirley Crall. He graduated from Rittman High school in 1974. He married Susie Wolfe March 12, 1983 and raised three sons. He provided for his family by working at Diebold Inc. as an electronic technician for 18 years before retiring in 2008. Shortly thereafter he became a Panther Expediting owner operator. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, family barbeques and was always great at finding "the deal-of-the-day" at garage sales. Gary found great pride and pleasure in attending every sporting event and social function his sons' participated in. He had the honor of being an Eagle Scout and serving as a Scout Leader to his sons' Boy Scout troop. His greatest joy came with the birth of his grandchildren. He attended Northside Christian Church where he was a member. He is survived by his wife Susie, children Joshua and Carolyn of Marshallville, OH., Daniel and Natalie of Oakland, TN., Jeffrey and Erica of Columbus OH.; grandchildren Camryn and Danny; mother Shirley Crall of Lakeland, FL.; siblings Penny (Pat) Perrin and Rusty (Ann) Crall. He was preceded in death by his father Russell Crall, father and mother-in-law Thomas and Verna Wolfe.
