Obituary for Donald L. Geiser
Donald L. Geiser, age 96, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Orrville Pointe. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011, 10:30 AM at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Walnut & Chestnut Sts. Orrville, OH. Rev. Ray Pfahler and Rev.Ramsey Wallace will be officiating. Entombment will be at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, OH. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, 6-8 pm at Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville and Thursday, July 14, 2011, 1 Hr before services at the CMA Church. The family suggests that friends may make a memorial donation to the Great Commission Fund, % of the Christian & Missionay Alliance Church, Walnut & Chestnut Sts.,Orrville, OH 44667 in his memory. Donald was born March 19, 1915 near Orrville to Louis and Mae (Soper) Geiser. He married Lydia M. Falb on July 29, 1937 and she passed away on October 27, 2001. He had been an active member of the Orrville C&MA Church for 80 years, serving as an elder and Sunday school teacher. For many years he owned and operated the Geiser Feed Mill south of Dalton. Don also drove long distance truck for the J.M. Smucker Co. and Louisana Pacific, retiring in 1980. He was the last of the original six men who purchased and developed Lake Harmony west of Dalton. Don's many hobbies included hunting, gardening, helping people and enjoyed being with his family. Surviving Don are his children Carolyn (Ralph) Keplar of Orrville, Kenneth (Jackie) Geiser of Winter Haven, FL, Ronald (LaVera) Geiser of Kidron and Marilyn (Jim) Scott of Ft. Mill, SC. He has 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Dorothy DiNaro of Wilmington, NC and Mary (Dave) Holderman of Orrville. Preceding him in death are sons Robert Wayne and Ralph Keith, 2 sisters, Iva Mae Nierman and Ardith Horst. The family would like to extend a big thanks to the staff at Orrville Pointe for their loving care of "Grandpa".
