Obituary for Theda M. Moomaw
Theda Marie Moomaw, age 82, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, Ohio after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4, 2011, 11:00 AM at the Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St. Orrville. Pastor Walter Jordan will be officiating. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, OH. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, 1 hour before services at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to Orrville Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 144, Orrville, Oh 44667 in her memory. She was born March 12, 1929 in Orrville, Ohio, the daughter of Forest and Bertha "Buffy" ( Stoll) Bowers. She married Carl W. Moomaw on August 10, 1947. He died on April 12, 2004. Theda attended Orrville Schools and graduated OHS in 1946. She and her husband Carl owned and operated The Johnson Hardware Company for over 40 years in downtown Orrville. Theda was a charter member of the Orrville Firefighters Auxiliary, a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, enjoyed gardening and yard work and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren Surviving are a son, Robert (Mary) Moomaw of Orrville, OH, grandchildren, Jeff (Kristin) Moomaw and Christine (Tim) Snyder and great grandchildren Brennen and Sophia Snyder all of Orrville. Also surviving is a brother Carl (Lucille) Bowers of Wooster. She is preceded in death by Carl Moomaw (Husband), Forest Bowers (Father), Bertha Bowers (Mother).
