Obituary for Mildred Frances Jones
Mildred Frances Jones, age 94, died on Saturday morning August 21, 2010 at her residence after a long period of declining health. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St. Orrville. Rev. Dale Boston will be officiating. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, OH. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to services. The family suggests in lieu of flowers friends may make a donation to a charity of the donor's choice in her memory. She was born November 18, 1915 at Providence, AL, the daughter of James and Hixie Bell (Tate) Colquitt. She graduated from Wetumka High School in Alabama. She married Leonard T. Jones on May 01, 1943 and he died on April 23, 1992. She was a waitress and retail clerk prior to being married. She later served as an election poll worker and volunteered for cancer fund drives, visiting the elderly, as well supporting charitable funds for children overseas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church her entire life, and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Women's Lydia circle. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Lytle, a son Ed Jones, both of Orrville, and her two grandchildren Michael and Tyler Lytle of Orrville, and her brother Franklin T. Colquitt of Cullman, Alabama. She also had many nieces and nephews who she kept in touch with. In addition to her husband Leonard; she was preceded in death by a son Alan and a daughter Fran whom she thought of dearly, her parents, brothers Ivy, Bruce, Howard, John and sisters Laura Dean, Mary Olive, Sara Aileen, and a son-in-law Fred Lytle. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Belinda Vance, Mary and Bill Hoover, Eleanor Maiwurm, Tahanna and the Angles of Comfort for their care and support of our mother and grandmother in her time of need.
