Obituary for Lucille C. Conrad
Lucille Catherine (Kelbly) Conrad, 89, formerly of Marshallville, died peacefully August 12, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2019, 11:00 AM at the East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Rd. Orrville,OH. Rev. Brad Kelley will be officiating. Burial will be at the East Chippewa Cemetery near Orrville, OH.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019, 1 Hr before services at the church.


Lucille was born January 22, 1930 in Marshallville to Clair and Catherine (Collins) Kelbly. She was a graduate of Dalton High School. On June 28, 1952 she married James Conrad and they resided in Marshallville their entire married life, until she moved to the Apostolic Christian Home in 2012.

She was a member of East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school and was active as a meal chairman. She was also a member of Mother’s and Homemaker’s clubs and was a Room Mother, Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She never met a craft she didn’t enjoy doing and was a fantastic cook and seamstress. She loved her Lord and her family above all else.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter Marcia of Orrville, son Richard (Teresa) of Sterling, granddaughter Dawn (Brian) Klett and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Tom and a brother Kenneth Kelbly.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the nursing home, who have become like a family to us. Your love, support and extreme caring has meant so much. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucille’s name to the Apostolic Christian Home at 10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, Ohio 44270.
