Obituary for Robert M. Howard Sr.
Robert Martin Howard Sr. age 62, went home to be with his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 20, 2018 in Orrville, Ohio after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
There will be a celebration of life held March 3, at 4pm at West Hill Baptist Church 2241 Mechanicsburg Road Wooster, Ohio. A private family burial has taken place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville Ohio. There will be no calling hours. Gresser Funeral Home will be handling those arrangements.
He was born in Canton, Ohio October 25, 1955 to Robert F. Howard and Betty Margaret Wheeler Howard. He was married August 4, 1974 to Nancy Lee Waldron.
He was an active member of Westhill Baptist Church where he was involved in the Video Production Team and Triple Cord Prayer group. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ for over 37 years. He was part of the evangelism team and loved sharing the gospel with everyone he met. He was also a member of CM&A Church in Orrville for over 20 years. He often quoted Col 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”
He graduated from Akron University with a bachelor’s degree in Technical Education, and associates in Computer Repair and Technology.
He worked at the Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes County in Wooster for 12 years as the Information Technologist. He worked as a Computer Instructor at Wayne College for 12 years.
His greatest joy was working at Camp Echoing Hills, a camp for special needs people for the past 15 years. He was avid fishermen. He loved camping and being outdoors. He was an AWANA leader at C&MA in Orrville. He was also a Scout Master for troop 112 in Orrville. He and his wife Nancy were Orrville Band Booster Presidents for 4 years. They served for ten years in Wayne County as foster parents earning foster parents of the year for 2 different years. They parented 32 foster children in those ten years.
Surviving are his four children son Robert (Megan) Howard Jr, daughters Olivia (Jason) Caskey and Caitlyn Howard all of Orrville, son Dakota Howard (Anna Medvetz) of Wooster, 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Alena, Corran, & Kalla Howard, Lacey, Taylor and Reed Caskey, Hanley Howard and two sisters Barbara (Klaus) Voigtlaender, Jean (Frank) Staley and one brother Jim (Corina) Howard and numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death are his mother, father, and sister Theresa Walker.
