Obituary for Donna M. Tredway
Donna M. Tredway, age 91, died on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Carriage Court of Hilliard, Ohio, following a period of declining health. She was a resident of Orrville for 62 years before moving to Gahanna, Ohio, to be near family.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Internment of ashes will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville at a later date to be determined by the family. There will be no calling hours.
Donna was born on November 7, 1929 to the late Truman F. “Casey” and Nita A.
(Smith) Schrock, graduated from Orrville High School in 1947, attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, and worked at Hagan prior to raising her family. She married James M. “Pookie” Tredway on May 11, 1952 in Orrville. Pookie died April 20, 1991.
Donna worked in the family businesses, Pookies, Pookies Other Place, Tredway
Real Estate, and ran the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for several terms. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville until moving. In Gahanna, she served as a teacher’s aide in early reading classes, was active in the Gahanna Senior Center, Silver Sneakers, the YMCA, and a member of VFW Post 4719. She loved cooking, baking, walking, riding her stationary bike, crafts, and especially spending time with her grandson.
Surviving is her daughter, Diane K. (JT) Thompson, her son, Jim J. (Joy) Tredway, and her grandson, Alex J. Tredway, step granddaughter Christy Thompson(Jared) Blackburn and stepgreat granddaughter Emma Reese.
In addition to her husband, Pookie, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol J. Schrock, Doris F. Schrock, Marjorie A. Schrock, and her parents.
