Obituary for Virginia Irene Smith
Virginia Irene Smith, age 89 died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Altercare of Wadsworth in Wadsworth, Ohio. A graveside service will be at the Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City, Alabama on Wednesday February 2, 2011 with Bass Funeral Home of Alexander City assisting the family. There will be no local visitation. Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville is in charge of arrangements locally. She was born May 09, 1921 in Barberton, Ohio, the daughter of Archie and Leila (Panter) Keller. She married Paul William Smith and he died in 1996. Virginia grew up and attended school in Barberton, OH graduating from Barberton High School in 1939. After her marriage, she and Paul lived in Wadsworth, Oh where she worked at Koons Bakery and the Wadsworth High School Thrift Shop. In 1979, she moved to Alexander City, AL for twenty years and in 1997 returned to Ohio to live in the Marshallville area. Virginia attended Rimer Road Baptist Church in Wadsworth and loved bird watching and feeding small animals. Surviving her are sons, Jim Smith of Rittman, Paul W. Smith Jr. of Marshallville, a granddaughter, Becky J. Smith-Dansby of Cataula, Ga., grandsons, Jason and Andrew Smith, six great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are Paul W. Smith (Husband), Archie Keller (Father), Leila Keller (Mother).
