Obituary for Teresa H. Tyson
Teresa H. Tyson, age 50, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Dunlap Community Hospital in Orrville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Christ United Church of Christ, Orrville,OH. Rev. Randy Gehres will be officiating. Burial will be at the St. Michael's Cemetery in Marshallville, OH. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010, 7 to 9 pm at Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Salvation Army of Orrville, 332 W. High Street, Orrville, OH 44667 or the Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St. Orrville, OH 44667 in her memory. Our precious "treat" was born October 30, 1959 at Fort Gordan, Georgia, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Brown) Meeks. She married William J. Tyson on August 1,1981 and he survives. She lived all but 2 years of her life in Orrville, attended Orrville schools and graduated OHS in 1980. Teresa didn't have a mean bone in her body. She loved and cared about everyone. She loved to help people and would go out of her way to show her love to people in so many ways. She was well known in the community picking up and collecting cans and riding her bicycle always wearing her helmet over a hat, using hand signals that were often missed by many. She said once, she thought she should be "citizen of the year" because she really did a lot for the city by letting them know when something needed fixing. Teresa made many friends walking her Daily Record route every morning (with occasional rides from Mom in inclement weather). She loved music, crocheting and yard sales. She loved her Grandma Helen Brown, making regular calls to her to check how she was doing, sometimes hinting for one of Grandma's special pies or other delicious treats. Surviving her are her husband William J. Tyson of Orrville, a son, Kevin (Amanda) Tyson of Orrville, her parents, Frederich and Mary Helen Meeks of Marshallville, and dearly beloved grandchildren, Cameron Tyson and Carley Osburn. Also surviving her are a sister, Jeryl (Chuck) Proudfit, niece, Maya Proudfit, nephew, Aidan Proudfit, her Aunt Ruth Rock, Uncle John (Carol) Brown, Uncle Robert (Lisa) Brown, Uncle Sam (Margaret) Meeks, Aunt Katie Richmond, Aunt Sharon Hon, many cousins, mother-in law, Mary Gregory and a good friend, Louise Miller. She is preceded in death by Uncle Bill Richmond and Uncle Kenny Hon, Grandpa and Grandma Fred and Ann Meeks and Grandpa Ralph Brown.
