Obituary for Stanley Josef "Joey" Ziegler
- Stanley Josef (Joey) Ziegler, 72, of Orrville passed away Monday November 14, 2022 at Orrville Pointe.
He was born November 3, 1950 in Orrville to Stanley Ziegler and Mary (Handwerk) Ziegler.
After graduating from Orrville High School, he went to Kendall School of Design. Joe enjoyed his love of drawing and painting scenery throughout his life. He did many paintings and designed his own Christmas Cards.
He worked for the Akron Beacon Journal for 28 years and retired in 2008 for health reasons. Joe loved to hunt, fish and trap, and what would the spring run of snapping turtles be without Joe's famous turtle chowder. He had Arctic foxes and took them around to schools for students to enjoy. He enjoyed being outdoors; nature was his life!
He is survived by a sister Connie (Ziegler) Prough and Rick Prough, a brother Gary Ziegler and Angie (Berner) Ziegler and his nieces Belinda (Shearer) Carnes, and Melissa (Ziegler) Brew and his nephews Gregg Shearer, Kyle Shearer and Tom Ziegler.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Guy Ziegler.
Private burial services will be held at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
