Obituary for Ruby Arlene Morrison
Ruby Arlene Morrison, 87, of Orrville, died at home after a sudden illness on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Arlene (the name she went by) was born on February 1st, 1931 in Nicut, WV, to the late Chapman B. and Ada Lucille Keeton. On February 3, 1951, she married Carl E. Morrison, who preceded her in death on Oct 27, 2013. She and Carl moved to Orrville in 1954 after living in Coshocton and Dalton.
The last of six sisters and one brother, Arlene was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and gardening, baking and hosting large family gatherings in her golden years. As her mobility waned, she took great delight in sewing, quilting, reading, watching football, listening to music and looking through her many photo albums.
Besides her husband and parents, Arlene was predeceased by son Ronald Morrison; step-sons Carl Morrison II, Clarence Morrison; sisters Janice See, Hope Sparks, Maxine Uhl, Juanita Waeffler, Charlotte Maxwell; brother Stanton Jett: grandson Shaun Morrison and great-granddaughter Marissa Morrison.
Surviving are sons David (Kara) Morrison of Suwanee, GA; Tom (Dawna) Morrison of Orrville; grandsons Jeremy Morrison, Jason (Maryjoe) Morrison, Jerid Morrison, Ryan Morrison, Ian Morrison, Carl (Laura) Morrison III, granddaughters Rhiannon (J.P.) Packard and Lauryn (Brian) Redman: great-grandsons Hunter Morrison, Owen Morrison, Jaxson Morrison, Austin Morrison, Maddox Redman: great granddaughter Perry Packard and many a “claimed grandchild”.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville on Monday, January 14th. Funeral services will be January 15, 2019 at 11 am at Gresser Funeral Home with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery following the services
