Obituary for Richard R. Rabatin
Richard R. Rabatin, age 85, of Orrville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at his home with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side following a period of declining health.
Rich was born April 15, 1937 in Doylestown, Ohio to Louis and Margaret (Ternansky) Rabatin. On December 10, 1958 he married Mary K. Troyer, she survives.
Rich grew up on his family's farm in Doylestown, Ohio. He was married for 62 years, had six children, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. He had a generous heart, was quick to offer help and never forgot a person he met. He showed his love through food, making sure you didn't leave with an empty stomach and bringing gifts of food for those who were having a hard time or to simply show he was thinking of you. Just hours before he passed away he ordered pizza for the family. He was encouraging and supportive of his family. His love, affection and care will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, his is survived by five children; Steve (Ann) Rabatin of Kidron, Joe (Jill) Rabatin of Apple Creek, Teresa Stafford of Orrville, Tammy Rabatin of Orrville and David (Ruth) Rabatin of Millersburg; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed, Bill, and Louis; sisters Betty and Sister Michael; beloved daughter, Sherry and dog Muffy.
A graveside service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Doylestown, OH on Monday, July 11 at 11:00 AM.
