Obituary for Richard O. Waefler
Richard Olen Waefler, age 81 died on Monday, November 03, 2014 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton after a period of declining health. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 10, 2014, at 8:00 PM at the Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville. The family will receive friend and relatives one hour prior from 7-8 PM for a time of remembrance. Keith Smith will be officiating. Cremation has taken place at Richard's request. The family also suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Izaask Walton League for Conservation, 21334 Foster Road, Wellington OH 44090. He was born January 08, 1933 in Orrville, Ohio, the son of Howard and Pearl (Frantum) Waefler and later married Juanita G. Keeton. Richard was as Orrville High School graduate Class of 1950 and served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked at the Smith Dairy for 48 years. Richard (ISH) was an avid bowler for many years and also enjoyed fishing with family and friends on "long days". Surviving are a son Rich (Dawna) Waefler, grandchildren, Richard J.Waefler, Joel Landis, Noel (Chad) Miller, and great grandchildren Isabel Miller, Micah Miller and Owen Landis. Preceding him in the death are his parents and his wife. The family wishes to thank Shady Lawn, Brenn-Field and Wooster Hospital Home Health for their excellent care and compassion
