Patricia Jean LeFever, 91, formerly of Smithville, passed away on July 8, 2024, at Danbury Senior Living Facility after a brief illness. A memorial service is planned for 11 am on July 15, 2024, at Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main Street in Orrville. Friends may visit with family an hour prior to the service. Gresser Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Patricia was born at home in Wooster, Ohio, on March 29, 1933, to Arthur W. and Dorothy (Miller) Dietrick. Known to most as “Pat”, she graduated from Smithville High School in 1951. She then went to work for a local dentist, Dr. Wagner, as a receptionist. She also worked at Woolworths as a salesclerk and in the cafeteria at Green Local Schools for 20 years. Pat served as a Wayne County 4-H advisor for many years and was one of the first Master Clothing Educators in The State of Ohio. Sharing her knowledge of sewing with her daughter, granddaughters and local 4-H members brought her great joy. She was a long-time member of Wayne County Farm Bureau, serving with Council 6 as well as a member of Ohio Eastern Stars, initially with the Orrville Chapter and later the Shreve Chapter. She served as the Eastern Stars Worthy Matron in 1977. As a member of Christ United Church of Christ, she taught Sunday School in her early years.

In 1955, Pat married Lester Jay LeFever and they made their home in the Smithville area. They had been married for 61 years when Les passed away in 2016. Pat is survived by their children Karl (Lou Ann) LeFever and Karen (Sean) Donley of Wooster, and John (Carrie) LeFever, of Orrville. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren Matthew (Amanda) LeFever, Katherine LeFever; Michaela Donley, Zachary Donley, Mackenzie Donley; Lester (Ashley) LeFever II, Amanda LeFever, Joshua (Serena) LeFever, Rachael LeFever, and Rochelle LeFever; Eight great-grandchildren; Lucas, Bryce, and Charli LeFever; Cael, Sawyer, and Averee LeFever; and Elena and Evelynn LeFever; as well as a brother-in-law, Bruce Evans, of Merrimac, MA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691 or the Wayne County 4-H Scholarship Funds, 428 W. Liberty Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
