Obituary for Myron C. Allen
Myron Charles Allen, age 91, formerly of Orrville, died on Monday, February 28, 2011, after battling pneumonia and other medical complications. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St., Orrville, Ohio Monday March 7th starting at 9:30 AM followed by the funeral service at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Brian Catalucci will be officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville with military honors. The family requests that any donations be sent to the VFW, American Legion, Wounded Warriors, USO or any such group of the donor's choosing. He was born October 06, 1919 in Orrville, Ohio, the son of Frank and Grace (Straights) Allen and was one of six children. Myron, who has been resident of Denver, Colorado for the past 15 years, was born and spent his entire life in Orrville, Ohio. He graduated from Orrville High School. He was in the Navy during World War II serving on LST's in the Pacific Theater. Myron married his beloved wife, Sara Korleen Carpenter in 1946. He attended trade school in Chicago and then worked as a machinist at Republic Steel in Canton until his retirement in 1984. He moved to the Denver area in 1995 to be near his daughter. Myron was a lifetime member of the Orrville VFW and American Legion. Surviving are his daughter Lise (Allen) Catalucci and her husband Brian of Denver, CO, his son Michael Myron Allen and his wife Carol of Cincinnati, OH, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grand children, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Korleen Allen (Spouse), Frank Allen (Father), Grace Allen (Mother).
