Obituary for Mary Lee Maiwurm
Mary Lee Maiwurm, age 82, loving wife and mother, passed away on Friday, November 08, 2019 following a brief illness.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019, 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1565 Rex Dr. Orrville. Rev.David Rittgers will be officiating. Internment of ashes will at Crown Hill Cemetery following services.
The family will receive the public on Saturday, November 16, 2019, 1 Hr before services at the church.
The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Salvation Army, 401 West High Street, Orrville, OH 44667 in her memory.
She was born September 15, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Arlene (Edwards) Weltlick. She graduated from the Ohio Institute of Business in 1957 after graduating Orrville High School in 1955.She went on to provide the Orrville community with insurance service for over 20 years before retiring. On May 24, 1958 Mary Lee married her childhood best friend and love of her life, David Maiwurm. They resided in Orrville and grew their family consisting of two sons, Scott and Craig.
Being a wife and mother, grandmother, sister and friend were Mary Lee’s favorite roles in life. She excelled at these roles and will be dearly missed. There was no function or life event that wasn’t fitting for here desserts or dishes. She was often the first to comfort her large group of friends and family whenever she could. Mary Lee was known for her infectious smile and kind and compassionate spirit. Mary Lee had a passion for sports from the Cleveland Indians to the Ohio State Buckeyes and passed that love onto her family. There was no bigger cheerleader for her grandsons wrestling endeavors, her grand-daughter’s competitive horse shows and following her brother as he coached Division I college basketball.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-one years David, their two sons Scott (Valerie) and Craig (Emily) and grandchildren, Travis, Jeremy, Trevor, Isabella, and Adaline along with brother Robert (Nancy) Weltlich, niece and nephew and a wide array of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert and mother, Arlene.
