Martha Marie (Forrer ) Miller, 79, of Orrville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12th at the Orrville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a period of declining health.
She was born on May 26, 1946 in Marshallville to Mary (Shilling) and William Forrer.
Martha was united in marriage 1978 to Harvey Miller, who passed away in 2018.
She was a graduate of Smithville High School. Mary worked for a number of years as a waitress at the former Post House Restaurant. She then worked in the pipe organ department of Schantz Organ Company for many years. Following this she volunteered at Orrville City Schools and then was hired full time to work in the cafeteria at Oak Street School, retiring in 2009. Following her retirement, she transported her favorite Amish ladies for a number of years.
Marty had a lot of friends. She especially loved her family and grandchildren. Playing cards, bingo and listening to country music were an enjoyment for her. She and her husband also enjoyed taking trips to Kentucky where he was raised
Surviving is her son Jeremy (Andrea) Neff of North Lawrence, grandchildren Kelsey (Xander) Edwards of Venice, FL, Kolton Miller of Wooster and Lindsey Neff of North Lawrence and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son Shane Miller in 2019, her parents; her sisters Ruth Linhoss and Mary Messenger and Jeanette Reed (as a young child); her brothers Orren Reed, John, Bill, Ralph and George Forrer.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at St. Michaels Lutheran Cemetery in Marshallville for the family.
Memorials may be sent in memory to Hospice of Wayne Greater Wayne County in Wooster, OH.
