Obituary for Mae S. Smucker
Mae S. Smucker, age 93, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Glendora Health Care Center near Wooster, OH. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 3:00 PM at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 7843 Smucker Rd. Smithville, OH. Rev. Enid Schloneger will be officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Smithville, OH. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 1 Hr before services at the church. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care of Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd.,Wooster, OH 44691 or Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Memorial Fund 7843 Smucker Rd.,Smithville, OH 44677 in her memory. She was born August 30, 1916 at Sterling, Ohio to the late John E. and L. Mae (Rader) Ramseyer. She married Vernon Smucker on August 16,1939 and he died in 1975. Mae attended schools in Sterling, OH and graduated high school in 1934. Her special hobbies were music, playing guitar, piano and organ and she also sewed and embroidered. She was a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church. Surviving are children, Elaine Steiner of Orrville, Jean (Robert) Rodgers, Hesston, KS. and Arden (Susan) Smucker, Wooster, and brother Roy (Katheryn) Ramseyer and sister in law Lois Ramseyer and grandchildren Teresa Ontiveros, Torrey Geiser, Sara (Jason) Barnwell and Joseph Rodgers. Preceding Mae in death are her husband, Vernon Smucker, sister Ella Pearl Smucker, and brothers Paul Ramseyer and John Ramseyer. The family wishes to remember Mae's dear friends Louis Klett, Eugene Howell family and Lowell Reynolds family.
