Lelia “Mae” (Miller) Ramseyer passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the age of 90.

Mae was born on July 3, 1928 along with her twin sister, June, to Bert and Edna Miller in Bloomington, Illinois. She also served in voluntary service with her sister at Vineland Hospital in New Jersey before graduating. She married Arden Ramseyer in February 1951 and built a loving and welcoming home with him in Smithville.

During her life she was active in Mennonite Women, Yarn Club, Mother's Club, and served as a 4-H advisor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, reading her Bible, and being an active member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church.

Mae truly lived a Christ-centered life and His light shone through her to everyone she encountered. She cared deeply for others, spending countless hours praying for, visiting, and serving those around her. She served as a Stephen minister, youth mentor and Sunday school teacher. Mae humbly gave of her time to help others, many acts of kindness going unnoticed. Her gentle spirit, words of encouragement, and servant heart touched so many.

A celebration of life service will take place Monday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 7843 Smucker Road, Smithville, with Pastor Doug Zehr officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery following the services.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Oak Grove Church and one hour prior to the services at the church.

The family suggests memorial gifts be given to Oak Grove Mennonite Church Memorial Fund, 7843 Smucker Road, Smithville, OH 44677; Mennonite Central Committee, 21 S. 12th St., P.O. Box 500 Akron, Pa. 17501; or LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
