Obituary for Kathryn M. Hamsher
Kathryn M. Hamsher, age 94, died on Monday, March 19, 2012 after a brief illness at Aultman Orrville Hospital in Orrville, Ohio. A memorial services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012, 11:00 AM at the Orrville Mennonite Church, 1305 West Market St. Orrville, OH. Rev. Bill Seymour will be officiating. Burial will be at the Smithville Mennonite Cemetery in Smithville, OH. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012, 6-8 PM at Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm Street in Orrville. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to the Orrville Mennonite Church, 1305 West Market Street,Orrville, OH 44667 or the Mennonite Central Committee, P O Box 500 Akron, PA 17501 in her memory. She was born October 04, 1917 at Orrville, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Moser) Lehman. She married Dallas Hamsher December 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1992. As an active member of the Orrville Mennonite Church, she held various positions with a particular involvement with women's Fellowship & Service. In the community Kathryn had served on the City of Orrville Human Rights committee, the Kidron Historical Society, Ohio State Nurses' Association the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and the OrrVilla Guild. She was a loving nurse for many years and enjoyed hobbies of roses, blue birds, crocheting knitting and playing games. Surviving her are a daughter, Kathleen (Dale) Hess, a son, Keith (Sharon) Hamsher, all of Orrville; grand children, Scott (Cathy) Miller of Medina, Michael (Keri) Hamsher of Orrville, Matthew (Buffe) Hamsher of Marshallville, Douglas Hamsher of Dayton, TN and Sarah Hamsher of Orrville. Also surviving are nine great-granchildren, Lauren and Nathan Miller ,Emerson, Maya, and Sawyer Hamsher, Shadra, Sierra, and Ainsley Hamsher and Mason Hamsher. She was preceded in death by Dallas Hamsher (Late Husband), Jacob Lehman (Father), and Sarah Lehman (Mother), sister Clara Hershberger, Orpha Hartzler, and brothers Milton, Marcus, Paul and Marion Lehman.
