Obituary for Karl D. Werntz
Karl D. Werntz, age 74, formerly of Marshallville, died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Orrville Pointe after an extended illness. Private graveside services for immediate family will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Fulton Rd. Marshallville,OH. Pastor Don Evans will be officiating. There will be no calling hours. Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville is handling funeral arrangements. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to St. Michael's United Church of Christ, 22 East Euclid Street, Marshallville, OH 44645 in his memory. He was born September 22, 1936 in Marshallville, Ohio, the son of Myron and Naomi (Reed) Werntz. He married Phylis Gordon on December 9, 1956 and she prceded him in death on March 15, 2001. Karl attended Smithville schools and worked as a machinist for Conval (formerly Ohio Injector) of Wadsworth and retired fromVolvo - GM in Orrville. He was a former member of the Marshallville Fire Department and Lion Club and attended the Marshallvill United Church of Christ. Karl enjoyed following professional sports especiallly football and basketball. Survivng Karl are his children Karla Berger of Marshallville, Dennis Werntz of Canal Fulton, Debra (Daniel) Ramsier of Seville, Jeffry (Sue Ann) Werntz of Orrville, Holly (Curtis) Lake of Canton; Grandchildren Bryce, Bryndi, Brynt and Bryget Werntz, Garrett and Gabriel Ramsier, Kaylin and Collin Lake, Great,grandchildren Lacy,Lyla Lily,Ryver and Wyatt Ramsier, two brothers Myron Jr. (Sonny) Werntz of Orrville and Jerry Werntz of Strasburg. Preceding him in death are his parents, and his wife Phylis A. Werntz.
