Obituary for John M. Lauer Sr.
John M. Lauer Sr., age 75, of Orrville passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday December 15, 2015. He was a loving husband, father and friend; a caring man who helped many in life and will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Maryanne. His legacy lives on with his seven children: Kathy McCartney of Beach City, John Lauer Jr. of Orrville, Steve Lauer of Ashland, Dan Lauer of North Lawrence, Andrew Lauer of Findley, Lisa Mishler of North Lawrence, and Jason Lauer of Negley, OH. Also surviving are his 19 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. He was a United States Air Force veteran, a member of Heartland Christian Center, a former member of the Frontier Rider Horse Club, former Westinghouse employee and owner of John's Saddle Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Milton Lauer, his brother Robert Lauer and his great-grandson Mason Lester. Internment and Military Honors are scheduled for Friday December 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Western Reserve Military Cemetery near Rittman, followed by a celebration of his life will be held at the family home Friday December 18, 2015 from 7 - 9:00 PM. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH and desires all donations be sent to them
