Obituary for Jeanne A. Baker
Jeanne A. Baker, age 58, died on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her residence in Smithville, Ohio surrounded by her family after an extended illness. A private family memorial ceremony will be held at the family's time of choice. A Celebration of Life Gathering for family and friends will be announced after the holidays. There will be no calling hours. As was her wish, the body has been cremated. Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville is assisting the family with arrangements. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 in her memory. She was born February 28, 1953 in Orrville, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Baer) Berlin. She married Elster Baker and he survives. Jeanne was raised in Marshallville and attended Smithville schools graduating from Smithville High School in 1971. She had worked for the Rubbermaid Company and Seaman Corporation both in Wooster, OH. The center of her life was her family and friends and Jeanne enjoyed spending time with both. She also had a special interest in softball, playing for a number of teams. Surviving are her husband, Elster Baker of Smithville, OH, her mother, Pearl Berlin of Marshallville, a daughter, Jamie Ann Baker of Barberton, a son, Bart A. Baker of Smithville, step-children, Stephanie (Greg) Butcher of Canal Fulton and Jason H. Baker of Massillon and 5 grandchildren. Also surviving her are a sister Janet (Bruce) Elliott of Arizona, and brothers Daniel (Cheryl) Berlin, John (Khristy) Berlin all of Wooster and Jeff (Tammy) Berlin of Marshallville. Preceding her in death are her father Charles E. Berlin and grandparents
