Obituary for James L. Alderfer
James L. Alderfer, age 76, went home to be in the loving arms of Jesus August 31, 2020, at Accord Care Community Nursing Home in Orrville, Ohio.
James was born on April 24, 1944 in Mt Pleasant, PA to David and Mary (Histand) Alderfer. . James worked 35 years as a telephone technician installing and repairing phone and phone lines in the Kidron and Orrville areas and installed large phone systems in the factories. After retirement he worked at Advanced Auto parts as a delivery man. He was a long standing member of the former Chestnut Ridge Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife Naomi Begly Alderfer and three daughters Miranda Carey, Angela (Jason) Ward, and Heidi (Matthew) Richmond. Grandchildren: Ashley Harris, Preston Ward, Kayelee Ward, Kaitlynne Ward and Aribella Richmond. Great granddaughters: Autumn Ward and Izabellarose Harris.
Also surviving are his brothers Joesph (Alma Jane) Alderfer, Frederick Alderfer, Edward (Bernadine) Alderfer, Daniel Alderfer and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents David and Mary Alderfer and a granddaughter Brooklyn Joy Richmond
Arrangements are by Gresser Funeral Home on Friday September 4, 2020, private family viewing at 10 AM. An open grave side service will be held with Marvin Zuercher officiating 11am at Martins Mennonite Church 14027 Church Road, Orrville, Ohio.
