Obituary for Jack R. Van Zile
Jack R. Van Zile, age 85, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Orrville Point Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
Funeral services will be held at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville on Wednesday, Sept. 18th, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Terry Clark officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to services. Burial service will take place at Crownhill Cemetery in Orrville.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Jack was born on August 5th, 1934 in Orrville, the son of Arthur and Daisy (Tanner) Van Zile. He had been a resident of Orrville since birth. He was a retired Army veteran and had worked in the custodial department for Orrville City Schools. He retired in 1985. He enjoyed his retirement by playing bingo.
He is survived by a son, Douglas (Kimberly) Van Zile of Marshallville; daughters, Delilah (Anthony) Sanders of Wooster and Jacklyn (Timothy) Becker of Orrville; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandkids, and 1 great great-granddaughter. He is also survived by sisters Patricia (Lawrence) Birkbeck of Orrville, and Ruby (Gerald ‘Boz’) Johnson of Toledo.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and late wife, Rosalie E. Butterfield. He was also preceded by brothers, Martin and Roland Van Zile and a son Richard Van Zile.
