Obituary for Imogene Wayne
- Imogene (Short-Hicks) Wayne, age 86, died on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Barberton Citizens Hospital in Barberton after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2018, 11:00 AM at the Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St. Orrville. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, OH.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, 6-8 PM at Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville.
The family suggests that friends may make a donation to a charity of donors choice in her memory.
She was born April 24, 1932 in Index, Ky, Morgan County, the daughter of Warnie and Anna (Roop) Short. Imogene was married to Bronzel D. Hicks in June of 1948 and her second marriage to Alvin R. Wayne in 1980. She had worked at the J.M. Smucker’s, Wil-Burt, Orrville Leather and had retired from Rubbermaid. Imogene had been an Orrville and Marshallville resident most of her life.
Imogene survived by sons Dwight B. Hicks (Tomma) and Randall G Hicks (Susan), brother, William Short of Dover, OH and sister, Marie Sauer (Robert) of Marietta, Ga. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amanda Natalizio (Tony), Cassandra Mott (Jamie), Randall Hicks, Thomas Hicks (April), and Arin Hicks (Matt) and twelve great grandchildren- Dale Hicks, Lauran Hicks, Marin Shilling, Bailey Gochnauer,Ashton Jones, Carin Hicks, Alex Mott, Gavin Mott, Brock Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Alaric Natalizio, and Lucian Natalizio.
Preceding Imogene in death are her parents, prior husbands, brothers, Herschel, Charles, Granville and Arch E. Short.
Imogene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. We all will miss her dearly and will find comfort in knowing she is with departed love ones.
