Obituary for Ida Mae Yoder-Brenner
Ida M. Yoder-Brenner, age 93 passed away in her sleep at home on Thursday, February 07, 2019.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2019, 10:00 AM at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 7843 Smucker Rd. Smithville,Oh 44677. Pastor Douglas J. Zehr will be officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Smithville, OH.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019, 6-8:00 pm at the church.
The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Memorial Fund, 7843 Smucker Rd.,Smithville, OH 44677 in her memory.
She was born November 20, 1925 in Covington, KY, the daughter of George and Grace (Kircher) Riegler. She graduated high in her class at Dixie High School and was quite athletic. She married Russell Dean Yoder on April 12, 1945 and lived in Gahanna, Ohio where she and Russell raised two sons. She worked as a banker with Bank One from 1964 until she retired in 1978 upon moving to Smithville, Ohio. She and Russell traveled extensively and owned property in Brazil where they visited annually until Russell’s passing in 1995.
Ida married William E. Brenner on November 24, 1997 until his passing in 2008.
Ida is survived by her two sons, James of Clive, Iowa and Ray of Bay Village, Ohio along with daughters-in-law, Judy Yoder and Francine Yoder; Grandchildren Karen Anderson, Tim Yoder, Andrew Yoder and Robert Yoder; 2 Great Grandchildren (Kate and Zoe Anderson) as well as dear nephews and nieces.
