Obituary for Helen G. Misch
Helen G. Misch, age 95, formerly of Orrville and Downs,Illinois, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 2:00 PM at the Leroy Christian Church, 603 South East Street, Leroy, Illinois 61752. Pastor Tim Vollstedt will be officiating. Burial will be at the Dawson Cemetery in Ellsworth, IL. There will be no local services. Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, 12:30 - 2:00 PM at the Church prio to services., . The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Leroy Christian Church, 603 S. East Street, Leroy, Illinois 61752 or to the Eastview Christian Church 1500 N. Airport Road, Normal, Illinois I 61761 in her memory. She was born January 26, 1917 at Canalou, Missouri the daughter of Reuben and Bessie (Diggins) Faughn. She married Harold Misch,Sr on September 23, 1940 at Downs, Illinois and he died May 18, 2005. They farmed in the Leroy and Downs Illinois area for many years. Helen graduated from Bloomington High School. She was an LPN graduating from the Bloomington School of Practical Nursing. After graduation she worked in the Bloomington area hospitals and nursing homes. Helen was a member of the Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington. Along with her husband Harold, Helen volunteered on many church committees and activities. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Joan (Bennett) Misch Gates, Los Altos Hills, California; two sons, Harold (Chloe) Misch, Foley, Alabama; and Paul (Rebecca) Misch of Marshallville, Ohio; one sister Teresa Miller, Hudson, Ohio. She has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are Harold Misch, Sr. (Spouse), Reuben Faughn (Father), Bessie Faughn (Mother).
