Obituary for Glenda K. Garretson
– Glenda K. Garretson,67, of Orrville, entered peacefully into eternity on June 25, 2021, surrounded by family and in the loving hands of her children

Kay was born in Akron, Ohio on October 30, 1953, to the late Lewis and Arlie (Conley) Miller but was a lifelong resident of Orrville.

On September 2, 1983, she married Jontie Junior Garretson, and they spent the next 37 years building a foundation of love to raise their four children.

Kay attended Orrville High School and spent her early years in a couple different occupational positions. She later began her career of service with Community Action starting in 1996 as a bus driver and in 2021, retired as an Economic Assistant Representative. Kay was an early member of Christian Harbor Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Kay’s most fulfilling roles were as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister, daughter, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were the joys of her life. Kay enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, sharing in laughter with all who were around, and providing guidance on the importance of family. In addition to spending time with loved ones, Kay had a passion for making the holidays memorable with her commitment to honoring family tradition. Kay had a bright and ornery personality and was known for her generosity and selflessness.

In addition to her husband, Junior, she is survived by children, Charlie (Shonna) Garretson of Barberton; Shandell (Ryan) Kelly of Orrville; Jordan (Allison) Garretson of Orrville; and Sonny (Jessica) Garretson of Cuyahoga Falls; three grandchildren, Charlie Garretson, McKayla Kelly, and Shelby Garretson; and sister, Wilma Deitz,all of Orrville. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Milford and Lowell “Sonny” Miller and sister, Alice Rosalee Miller.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Christian Harbor Church located at 598 Wadsworth Road, Orrville, Ohio from 3:00-5:00 P.M. The family of Kay Garretson are inviting everyone back to Dutch Kitchen Banquets & Events Center, located at 14278 Lincoln Way East, Dalton, Ohio to fellowship and share some of our favorite memories and stories, of our wonderful person, who will be greatly missed.
