Obituary for Garnett M. Calderhead
Garnett M. Calderhead (Madge), 98, of Dalton, died Sept. 6, 2017, at Life Care Hospice in Wooster, OH.
Garnett was born on March 29th, 1919 in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late Url and Mary Dray. She worked at Rexroth in Wooster as a machinist retiring in 1975. She then worked for Jim Corbett cleaning services until the age of 85.
Garnett was a member of Orrville Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making beautiful doilies and Afghans for countless friends and family members. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Garnett is survived by her sons David S. Calderhead and Gerald L. Calderhead, both of Murrells Inlet, S.C., also by her daughter Sandra S. (Larry) Boak of Dalton, OH; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn (Danny) Porr of Smithville, OH. She is also survived by a combination of at least 170 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and even great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her 6 siblings, daughters: Shirley Bachman, Janice McMorrow, Donna Rickett; Son, Bill Calderhead, and grandson Robert Short.
Garnett’s funeral services will be held on Tuesday Sept. 12th, 2017 at 11am at Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm Street, Orrville, with Tom Ledford officiating. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orville. Friends may call 1 ½ hours before services for viewing. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road,Wooster, OH 44691 in her memory.
