Obituary for Esther M. Wachtel
Esther M. Wachtel, age 90 died on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Orrville Pointe after an period of declining health. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 1, 2011at 11:00 AM at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville. Pastor Robert Moskowitz will be officiating. The body has been cremation as she per her request. Burial of ashes will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. There will be no calling hours. In lieu fo flowers, the family suggests that friends may make a donation to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County 2525 Back Orrville Road Wooster, Ohio 44691 in her memory. She was born April 14, 1921 near Orrville, the daughter of Jacob and Leona (Paulus) Hoover. She married Herman Brown and he died in 1962. Her second husband of 35 years was Raymond Wachtel of Nashville who died in 2003. Esther was a hard working mother. She worked as a cook at Wooster Schools and retired as an activity therapist and the Apple Creek Development Center in Apple Creek. She instilled great values in her children and is loved by everyone. Esther enjoyed working in her garden and doing lawn work, cooking, canning, and her dog, Weezer. Most of all Esther liked playing pranks on her family and loved music. Esther will be missed deeply. Surviving her are sons Craig (Barb) Brown of Wooster, Gary (Ellen) Brown of Apple Creek, grand children Chelsie (Courtney) Seffens of Nashville, Oh, Ben Brown of Columbus, William Richmond of Uhrichsville, David Maxwell of Wooster, step-grandchildren, Tim and Jody Mullins, a sister Grace (Ed) Decker of Florida and a brother, Wilbur (Frannie) Hoover. Precedig her in death are husbands Herman Brown (1962), Raymond Wachtel (2003), a brother, Russell Hoover of Orrville, a daughter, Karen Lowe of Pennsylvania, and parents Jacob & Leona Hoover of Orrville. The family would also like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care of Wayne County for their compassion and support .
