Obituary for Elgie D. Auten-Forney
Elgie D. Auten-Forney, age 96, of Orrville passed away on August 4, at Accord Care in Orrville following a short period of declining health.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1926 in Orrville to Raymond and Zorah Horst and spent her entire life in the Orrville area.
Elgie was an accomplished seamstress, baker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended the Orrville Christian Church.
Elgie was preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughters Kathy Lambert, Carol Brillhart, Christine Gardner, son-in-law Virgil Lambert and brothers Ralph and Melvin.
She is survived by her husband Richard Forney, son Bob (Linda) Auten, son-in-laws Ron (Connie) Brillhart and Glen Gardner, stepdaughters Gail Hawks and Billie (Ronnie) Blosser, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will held on August 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Crownhill Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. A family visitation will be held at Gresser Funeral Home from 9:30 – 11 preceding burial at Crown Hill.
