Obituary for Darrell E. Miller
Darrell E. Miller, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2024 following a brief period of declining health.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, 11:00 AM at the Smithville Mennonite Church. Pastor Todd Martin will be officiating. A private burial will be at the Smithville Mennonite Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be directed to Compassion Fund, C/O: Smithville Mennonite Church, P.O. Box 455, Smithville, Ohio 44677 in his memory.
Darrell was born in Indiana to the late Kermit and Beulah Miller. He was a committed Christian, loving husband, father and grandpa. His concern for others, positive outlook, endless energy and never give up attitude made him a joy to be around and a treasure for our family! His goal is serving God, and his gift was service to others which he did his whole life.
For more than 30 years he served, in the Wayne county area, as an x-ray technician. After that, he volunteered his time to Church and non-profit organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, three sons, a daughter, their spouses and a sister.
He has many grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved dearly.
His life is a true example of how to love others before one’s self. His family will follow in his steps to carry out his legacy. He will be loved and missed by all those he touched.
