Obituary for Mary E. Messenger
Mary E. Messenger, age 84 passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Aultman Orrville Hospital in Orrville, Ohio after a sudden illness.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St. Orrville at a later date. There will be no calling hours. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
She was born July 02, 1932 in Marshallville,Ohio the daughter of William and Mary (Shilling) Forrer.
She retired after 25 years of service at Volvo in Orrville as a press operator. In addition to spending time with her family, Mary enjoyed gardening, flowers, her painted horses in her garden and watching LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mary was also known for her annual 4th of July picnic, decorating for holidays, her delicious pies and her beautiful flower gardens.
Mary is survived by her children; Vicki (Bob) Kimmell of Henderson, NV., Jackie (Jerry) Plank of New Philadelphia, Larry (Kim) Stanton of Phoenix, AZ., Joe (Mary) Messenger, Rhonda Conner, Terri (Kevin) Hopton, Alan (Jackie) Messenger, Kelly Messenger and daughter-in-law Diana Stanton, all of Orrville; step-children, Jerry Messenger of Wooster and Nancy Bishopof Rootstown, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. Sisters: Ruth (Rich) Linhoss and Marty (Harve) Miller both of Orrville. Brothers: George (Mary) Forrer of West Virginia and Bill (Elaine) Forrer of Dalton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death along with her parents are a son, John Stanton in 2011, an infant daughter, Linda Stanton, brothers John and Ralph Forrer and Orrin Reed and a step-son Larry Messenger.
