Obituary for Harold Lehman Sauers
Harold Lehman Sauers, age 84 died on Thursday, December 31, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Shady Lawn Care Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 06, 2016, 1:00 PM at the Christ United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main, Orrville. OH. Rev Randy Gehres will be officiating. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, OH. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, 11 Am - 1PM Prior to Services at the Church. The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Christ United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 301 N. Main St.,Orrville, OH 44667 in his memory. Harold was born December 30, 1931, in Orrville to Evan and Maude (Lehman) Sauers. He graduated High School from Orrville in 1950, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954. He worked from 1954-1963 for the Australian Tote Company in both Florida and Quebec, Canada, and as a maintenance technician for the J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville from 1963 until his retirement in 1994. He was an active member of Christ United Church of Christ in Orrville his entire life. Harold enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren. He was known as our "Pop". He enjoyed sports, music, travel, and was an avid weightlifter and jogger most of his life. Harold is survived by his wife of 58 years, Francoise (Champagne) Sauers, whom he married in Quebec City, Quebec, in 1957. He is also survived by his children Danny (Sharon) Sauers of Dayton, Linda (John) Kraft of Orrville, Louise Lemay of Montreal, Quebec, and Irene Lagarde of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Jacob (Samantha) Kraft, Alex (Clelia) Kraft, Dalyn (Josh) Johnson, Pierre Olivia Lemay, Martin Provost, Kathleen Provost, Mattieu Lagarde, Sarah (Tony) Lagarde, Samantha (Guillaume) Lagarde, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Laverne and John, sister Dorothy, son Guy (Susan) Lagarde, and grandson Jeremiah Schaut.
