Obituary for Carolyn J. Ellis
Carolyn Joan Ellis, age 82, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville after a period of declining health..
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2017, 11:00 AM at the Gresser Funeral Home, 415 N. Elm St. Orrville. Rev. Randy Gehres will be officiating. Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, OH.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, 6-8 PM at Gresser Funeral Home, Orrville.
The family suggests that friends may make a donation to Christ United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 201 N. Main St.,Orrville, OH 44667 in her memory.
Carolyn was born May 20, 1934 in Orrville, Ohio, the daughter of Irvin and Bessie (Geiser) Musser. She married Harlan Ellis on October 10, 1954 and he survives.
She attended school in Orrville, graduating Orrville High School and also attended Heidelberg College. Carolyn was employed Orrville Savings Bank and the City of Orrville where she retired in 1997 as the ncome tax administrator. She also taught piano in her home for many years.
Carolyn enjoyed vacations in Canada fishing and in later years wintering in Florida with Harlan and family.
Surviving are Harlan Ellis (Husband) of Orrville,OH , a sons Joe (Kathy) Ellis, and Jeff (Sylvia) Ellis, and a daughter Jacqueline (Terry) McConahay. Also surviving are grandchildren
Lisa ( Jason) Nussbaum, Robert McConahay, Sarah McConahay, Tyler Ellis, TJ Ellis, Tori McConahay and Beth Ann McConahay.
She was preceded in death by Bessie Musser (Mother), Irvin Musser (Father), a brother Edwin Musser, a twin infant granddaughter Tarah Lee McConahay.
